The Aspropyrgos facility is located in Aspropyrgos Attica, on a privately owned area of 95,000 square meters bordering and interlinked with the Industrial Facilities of the Aspropyrgos Refinery.
These premises house the offices of the Directorate of Facilities and Land Transportation for southern Greece.
This facility features the most extensive storage areas. The total storage area is approximately 130,000m3 and daily distribution capacity with tanker trucks is more than 6,000m3 of fuels over an 8-hour operation. There are approximately 35 employees -under permanent or temp contracts- working in this facility.
There is a total of nineteen (19) ground and aviation fuel tanks. Refueling takes place through three underground 6’’ pipes, about 1,100 meters long, that connect the facility with the Aspropyrgos Refinery at a speed of 200m3/hour. Moreover, the facility is connected with a mooring pier for tankers, in the sea area in front of lake Koumoundourou, with two underground 16’’ pipes, and one 12’’ pipe, about 4,200 meters long.
The mooring pier can accommodate -for fuel loading and unloading- tankers with a total tonnage of 40,000 DWT, at a speed of 1000m3/hour.
Tanker trucks loading takes place in fully automated bottom loading systems, at a speed of 120m3/hour per product, and simultaneous service ability, on the 18 loading hubs, for up to 24 trucks per hour of operation.
The facility has a Vapor Recovery Unit, state-of-the-art pumping station, and fire extinction water tank, while it is fully compliant with the corporate health and safety regulations, meets all environmental legislation requirements, and is certified by ISO 14001.
The Aspropyrgos facility serves the supply needs of the prefectures of Attica, Piraeus, the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Evia, Aetoloakarnania, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, and part of the needs of Cyclades. Moreover, it supplies nine regional airports with aviation fuels.
